To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am pleased to recognize Judith A. Oglesby on her appointment as Solicitor-General of the State Court of Bulloch County.

Oglesby brings extensive courtroom experience and a strong record of public service to her new role. She has served as chief assistant solicitor general of Bulloch County since 2022, prosecuting misdemeanor and juvenile cases as well as major felonies in the county’s Superior, Juvenile and State courts.

Her career has included service across multiple levels of Georgia’s justice system. She began as a staff attorney in the Superior Court of the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit, where she helped oversee the circuit’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program. She later served as an assistant district attorney in the circuit before joining the Bulloch County Solicitor-General’s Office.

Oglesby is a double Eagle, having earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Georgia Southern University. She earned her Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware, and graduated from Leadership Bulloch in 2022. She remains actively involved in her community.

The State Bar congratulates Oglesby on her appointment and wishes her continued success as she serves the people of Bulloch County and Georgia’s justice system.

Sincerely,

William C. “Bill” Gentry
President, State Bar of Georgia
