To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am pleased to recognize Richard E. “Richy” Braun Jr. on his appointment as district attorney for the Atlantic Judicial Circuit.
Braun is a lifelong resident of the Atlantic Judicial Circuit and a seventh-generation resident of Liberty County. His appointment follows a career marked by service to the communities of southeast Georgia in both public and private roles.
Braun currently serves as solicitor-general of McIntosh County and deputy chief assistant district attorney for the Brunswick Judicial Circuit. Earlier in his career, he served as an assistant district attorney in the Atlantic Judicial Circuit and as city manager for the City of Darien.
His experience also includes private practice, where Braun represented financial institutions, local governments and governmental entities throughout the region, including the City of Hinesville, McIntosh County, the City of Darien and the City of Midway.
A graduate of Georgia Southern University and the University of Mississippi School of Law, Braun brings broad legal experience and a lifelong connection to the communities of the Atlantic Judicial Circuit to his new role.
We commend Braun on his appointment and wish him continued success as he serves the citizens of the Atlantic Judicial Circuit and Georgia’s justice system.
Sincerely,
William C. “Bill” Gentry
President, State Bar of Georgia
