To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to congratulate Judge Debbie-Ann R. Rickman, David H. Emadi and Judge Nikia Smith Sellers on their appointments to the Superior Court of the Atlanta Judicial Circuit.

The Atlanta Judicial Circuit serves one of Georgia’s largest and busiest communities. Its judges are entrusted with resolving complex legal matters that directly affect the lives of countless citizens. These appointments reflect a continued commitment to maintaining a strong, experienced judiciary dedicated to the fair and impartial administration of justice.

Judge Rickman has built a distinguished career in public service through her work as a public defender, prosecutor and magistrate judge. Judge Emadi brings extensive courtroom experience as a former prosecutor and his leadership of Georgia's State Ethics Commission. Judge Sellers has devoted her career to public service as a veteran prosecutor and has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to serving her community both inside and outside the courtroom.

Each of these individuals has demonstrated professionalism, integrity and dedication throughout their legal careers. Their varied experiences will serve the people of the Atlanta Judicial Circuit well as they undertake the important responsibility of administering justice fairly and faithfully.

We congratulate Judge Rickman, Judge Emadi and Judge Sellers on these appointments and wish each of them continued success as they serve the citizens of Georgia and uphold the rule of law.

Sincerely,

William C. “Bill” Gentry
President, State Bar of Georgia
