To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to extend congratulations to Michael H. Rogers on his appointment as district attorney for the Griffin Judicial Circuit.
Rogers brings considerable experience to his new role, having served as senior assistant district attorney in the Griffin Judicial Circuit. During his tenure, he has prosecuted cases ranging from misdemeanors to major felonies in superior, juvenile, magistrate and probate courts throughout the circuit.
His legal career has also included private practice in Thomaston, where he focused on criminal defense, domestic relations and estate law, as well as service as an assistant public defender. This breadth of experience has allowed him to serve Georgia’s justice system from several perspectives.
Rogers is a past president of the Thomaston Bar Association and a graduate of the Leadership Georgia Class of 2022. He earned his undergraduate degree from Columbus State University and his law degree from Mercer University.
We congratulate Rogers on his appointment and wish him well as he takes on the responsibilities of district attorney and continues his service to the citizens of the Griffin Judicial Circuit.
Sincerely,
William C. “Bill” Gentry
President, State Bar of Georgia
