To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to extend congratulations to Kathleen Van Pelt Davis on her appointment as district attorney for the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit.

Davis brings extensive experience in both public service and private practice to her new role. She has served as a special assistant attorney general representing the Division of Family and Children Services and the Division of Aging Services throughout the four counties of the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit.

For the past 11 years, Davis has also served as a director of Bowers & Davis LLC, representing clients in criminal and domestic matters and conducting mediations throughout Northwest Georgia. Earlier in her career, she served as an associate special assistant attorney general.

A resident of Catoosa County, Davis earned both her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Georgia. While attending law school, she participated in the Prosecutorial Clinic, gaining experience that complements the varied legal work she has performed throughout her career.

We congratulate Davis on her appointment and wish her continued success as she serves the citizens of the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit and Georgia’s justice system.

Sincerely,

William C. “Bill” Gentry
President, State Bar of Georgia
