Congratulations to Judge Paige Whitaker on Court of Appeals appointment

To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to extend congratulations to Judge Paige Reese Whitaker on her appointment to the Court of Appeals of Georgia.
Judge Whitaker brings extensive trial and appellate experience to her new role after nearly a decade of service on the Superior Court of the Atlanta Judicial Circuit. Earlier in her career, she served for more than a decade as a senior assistant attorney general, handling complex litigation in Georgia’s trial and appellate courts, and as a deputy district attorney in Fulton County, where she led the Appeals Division.
Judge Whitaker has also demonstrated a strong commitment to Georgia’s legal community. She serves as an elected delegate to the State Bar of Georgia Board of Governors, president of the Lawyers Club of Atlanta and vice president of the Council of Superior Court Judges. Her service has also included leadership with the Georgia Commission on Family Violence and teaching as an adjunct professor of law.
Judge Whitaker's experience on the trial bench, extensive appellate background and service to the legal profession will be valuable assets to the Court of Appeals.
We congratulate Judge Whitaker on her appointment and wish her continued success as she begins this new chapter of service to the citizens of Georgia and our justice system.
