To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to extend congratulations to Brent C. Carter on his appointment to the State Court of Candler County.

Judge Carter brings more than two decades of legal and judicial experience serving the citizens of Candler County to the State Court bench. He currently serves as solicitor-general for the State Court of Candler County and previously served as chief magistrate judge of Candler County.

In addition to his public service, Judge Carter is a partner at CarterFranklin, LLP, where his practice primarily focuses on personal injury cases. His experience in private practice, as a prosecutor and on the bench provides him with a broad perspective as he takes on this new responsibility.

Judge Carter earned his bachelor’s degree from Mercer University and his J.D. from Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law. A Metter resident, he has served his community in various legal and judicial capacities since 2005.

We congratulate Judge Carter on his appointment and wish him continued success as he serves the citizens of Candler County and Georgia’s justice system.

Sincerely,

William C. “Bill” Gentry
President, State Bar of Georgia
