Congratulations to new State Court Judge Patrick Shepherd

To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to extend congratulations to Spalding County Solicitor-General Patrick M. Shepherd on his appointment by Gov. Brian Kemp to serve as a judge for the Spalding County State Court.
Judge Shepherd will be well served by his 16 years of experience in the legal profession and justice system, including the past seven years as solicitor-general, where he prosecuted misdemeanor criminal cases. He previously was in the private practice of law, representing clients in civil litigation, domestic relations, criminal defense, probate and estate matters and personal injury claims.
By accepting this appointment, Judge Patrick Shepherd demonstrates his continued commitment to serving the public and the justice system. We wish him well in this capacity of judicial leadership.
