To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to extend congratulations to Atlanta Deputy City Attorney Torrey D. Smith and Fulton County Magistrate Court Judge Robert D. “Bobby” Wolf on their appointments by Gov. Brian Kemp to serve as judges for the Fulton County State Court.

Judge Smith will be well served by his 25 years of experience in the legal profession and justice system. He previously served as a law clerk to Connecticut Appellate Court Judge Sidney Landau, as a staff attorney to Fulton County Superior Court Judge T. Jackson Bedford Jr., as an assistant district attorney for Fulton County, and as an attorney-advisor with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Judge Wolf brings 33 years of legal and judicial experience to his new position. He began his career as a prosecutor in the Cobb County Solicitor-General’s Office, the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office and Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office, as well as in private law practice. He has served as immediate past president of the Georgia Council of Magistrate Court Judges and past chair of the Judicial Section of the Atlanta Bar Association and is currently a member of the State Bar of Georgia Board of Governors.

By accepting these appointments, Judge Smith and Judge Wolf demonstrate their continued commitment to serving the public and the justice system. We wish them well in this capacity of judicial leadership.

Sincerely,

Christopher P. Twyman
President, State Bar of Georgia
