Georgia legal community mourns loss of attorney Michael Birchmore

To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of longtime attorney Michael D. Birchmore of Blue Ridge on his untimely passing at the age of 65.
A member of the Georgia Bar since 1990, Mr. Birchmore spent most of his career practicing law in Blue Ridge and also worked as an attorney in Albany, Alpharetta and Lawrenceville. He also worked as a certified mediator and arbitrator and served as a special assistant district attorney and counsel for the State of Georgia in federal actions. He also served his profession as a volunteer with the State Bar of Georgia’s High School Mock Trial program in addition to numerous capacities of leadership in his community and church.
The exemplary career of Michael Birchmore is an inspiration to all Georgia lawyers. We are appreciative of his many contributions to the justice system of our state. He will be missed and fondly remembered.
