To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to extend condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of longtime Atlanta attorney Alfred L. Mullins Jr. after his passing at the age of 82.
A Georgia Bar member since 1965, Mr. Mullins was a partner at Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers and later at Cashin, Morton & Mullins. He served the legal profession as a member of the State Bar of Georgia’s Board of Governors for more than 20 years, as a member of the State Disciplinary Board, as a founding director of the Atlanta Bar Association’s Council of Young Lawyers, as an adjunct professor of law at Emory School of Law and as a founding board member and past president of the Southeastern Bankruptcy Law Institute.
Mr. Mullins also served his country as a captain in the Army Judge Advocate General Corps.
Alfred Mullins Jr. will be missed and fondly remembered by his fellow members of Georgia’s legal community. We appreciate his dedication and the many contributions he made through his service to the public and the justice system.
Sincerely,
