Provisional Member

A provisional member is a member who has been approved by the Georgia Office of Bar Admissions to provisionally practice law before taking and passing the Bar Exam, pursuant to Supreme Court of Georgia order "Provisional Admission to the Practice of Law in Georgia." Provisional members may only practice under the supervision of another attorney.

If you have already been approved by the Office of Bar Admissions to become a provisional member and have received an email from the State Bar of Georgia stating that we have been notified of your approval, please proceed with the items for enrollment below.

ITEMS FOR ENROLLMENT

  1. Attorney Oath. Your oath will be provided to us by the Office of Bar Admissions.
  2. Membership Enrollment Form. Download the enrollment form here.
  3. Declaration of Qualifications. Provide form signed by your supervising lawyer. Download the form here.
  4. Payment of Fees. Make check or money order payable to State Bar of Georgia and mail your forms to 104 Marietta St. NW, Suite 100, Atlanta, GA 30303. If you prefer to pay by credit card, we will email you instructions for payment online. Please email your forms to membership@gabar.org. If paying by credit card, you do not need to send in the license fee notice and can choose sections through the online portal at the time of payment.
