Georgia legal community mourns loss of Jeffrey Sliz

To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to extend condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of Jefferson resident and longtime Lawrenceville attorney Jeffrey R. Sliz on his passing at the age of 76.
A Georgia Bar member since 1975, Mr. Sliz practiced law, with a focus on criminal defense, in downtown Lawrenceville for 51 years. Well known for his zealous representation of his clients, he was also active in his community and church, loved Harley-Davison motorcycles and Southern rock music and was a longtime owner of the Peach State Speedway.
Jeffrey Sliz will be missed and fondly remembered by his fellow members of Georgia’s legal community. We appreciate his dedication and the many contributions he made through his service to the public and the justice system.
