Letter to the Editor

Congratulations to new Henry County Superior Court, State Court judges

Henry Herald, McDonough

To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to extend congratulations to Henry County State Court Judge Chaundra D. Lewis on her appointment by Gov. Brian Kemp to serve as a Superior Court judge for the Flint Judicial Circuit, covering Henry County.

Judge Lewis will be well served by her 27 years of experience in the legal profession and justice system, including previous service as deputy chief assistant district attorney for Henry County, as deputy chief assistant solicitor general for Fulton and Clayton counties, as a State Court staff attorney and as a civil litigator and defense attorney in private practice before joining the State Court bench.

Additionally, we congratulate James D. Boles Jr., managing partner of Sexton & Moody, P.C., on his appointment by Gov. Kemp to serve as a judge for the Henry County State Court, filling the vacancy created by Judge Lewis’ Superior Court appointment. Judge Boles brings nine years of private law practice experience to his new position.

By accepting these appointments, Judges Lewis and Boles demonstrate their continued commitment to serving the public and the justice system. We wish them well in these capacities of judicial leadership.

Sincerely,

Christopher P. Twyman
President, State Bar of Georgia
