Congratulations to new Clayton State Court Judge Sonyja George

To the Editor:

The State Bar of Georgia congratulates Clayton County Magistrate Court Presiding Judge Sonyja J. George on her appointment by Gov. Brian Kemp to serve as a judge for the State Court of Clayton County.

Judge George will be well served by her 15 years of experience in the legal profession and justice system, including prior service as a defense attorney in Cobb County Juvenile Court, in private practice and as a special assistant attorney general representing the Department of Family and Children Services. 

Through her acceptance of this appointment, Judge George demonstrates her continued commitment to serving the public and the justice system. We extend our best wishes to her in this new role.
