Savannah Attorneys Re-Elected to Board of Governors of State Bar of Georgia

Atlanta – Savannah attorneys Paul W. Painter III of Bowen Painter LLC and Jonathan B. Pannell of Gray Pannell & Woodward LLP were re-elected to serve on the Board of Governors of the 52,000-member State Bar of Georgia and were installed June 4.

Painter will continue to serve in the Eastern Judicial Circuit, Post 1 seat on the board, representing Chatham County. He earned his law degree from Mercer University Walter George Law School and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2007. His law practice is focused in the area of personal injury litigation. He is a past chair of the General Practice & Trial Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia and a past president of the Savannah Trial Lawyers Association.

Pannell will continue to serve in the Post 3 seat from the Eastern Circuit. He is a graduate of the Georgia State University College of Law and joined the State Bar in 2006. His law practice is focused in the areas of municipal finance, business law, local governments and public authorities and includes municipal bond law, business transactions and commercial real estate matters. He is a past president of the State Bar’s Young Lawyers Division and a past chair of the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Board of Governors is the 160-member policymaking authority of the State Bar, with representation from each of Georgia’s judicial circuits. The board holds regular meetings at least four times per year.
