Your First IEP Meeting: What Every Attorney Should Know Before Sitting at the Table is a practical introductory program presented by Georgia Appleseed for attorneys interested in providing pro bono representation to students with disabilities and their families. This one-hour CLE will walk attorneys through the process from the first client conversation through post-meeting follow-up. Using a realistic student scenario, participants will learn what to review, what to ask, how to prepare the student and family, how to advocate effectively at the meeting, and what to do when important issues remain unresolved. No prior special education experience is required.
Presenters: Jack Grote and Mary Kathryn Velazquez, Georgia Appleseed
