Please join us for the School & College Law Section Annual Meeting on September 15, 2026, at the State Bar Headquarters in Atlanta. The meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m.
Lunch will be provided, and attendees will receive CLE credit.
Annual Meeting Agenda

- The Section will conduct elections for its leadership positions.
Nominations: Please submit nominations prior to the meeting to Randy Farmer.
Open Positions

- Vice Chair (Jenna Rubin has been nominated.)
- Treasurer (Andrea Jolliffe will serve if no additional nominations are received.)
A vote will be conducted for any position that receives more than one nomination.

Presenters:
Best Practices for Constitutionally Balancing Free Speech & Order at School Board Meetings
This presentation will explore the public forum doctrine and its application to public comment periods at school board meetings. The speakers will examine the constitutional requirements of reasonableness and viewpoint neutrality and review common regulatory approaches used by public bodies. The discussion will distinguish permissible time, place, and manner restrictions and germane-topic requirements from restrictions that courts have found to be constitutionally unreasonable or viewpoint based.
