On September 10, 2026, we are excited to kick off (no pun intended) the new year with an incredible conversation between Curtis Franks, General Counsel of FIFA World Cup 2026 and Professor Mo Ivory of Georgia State University.   Curits Franks has served as General Counsel of FIFA World Cup 2026 since 2023, leading legal strategy across commercial agreements, sponsorships, venue and host city arrangements, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and operational planning. Professor Ivory recently taught "The Legal Life of FIFA" at Georgia State University, giving her a distinctive vantage point on the tournament's legal complexities. Together, they will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the legal framework behind a global event of extraordinary scale.

The timing of this conversation could not be better. Atlanta was one of the standout host cities of the 2026 tournament, with sold-out matches, a record-setting Fan Festival, and celebrations across the region. That success was the product of years of planning and collaboration among public officials, venue operators, lawyers, and business leaders. Therefore, to complement the featured conversation, we are developing a panel on the legal, business, and economic considerations of attracting and hosting major events, with additional speakers to be announced.

Registration opens at 2:30 p.m. with snacks and networking; the program begins at 3:00 p.m., followed by a reception. Attendees can earn  2 general CLE credits.  This event is sure to be a hit like the World Cup was in Atlanta, so RSVP to secure your space!

We hope you will join us for this timely and engaging discussion.
