Nonprofit Law Section | When Good Boards Go Bad: Nonprofit Governance and Risk Management

Date: January 29, 2026, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Serving on a nonprofit board of directors or supporting one as staff can be deeply rewarding, but even the most well-intentioned boards can stumble into governance pitfalls. Join us on Thursday, January 29th from 12 - 1 p.m. for a virtual CLE session that will explore how to keep nonprofit boards on track and protect your organization and yourself.

Program Highlights:

  • Governance Landscape Updates: How shifts in the regulatory environment may adjust approaches to nonprofit governance
  • Risk Management Strategies: How to identify red flags and mitigate liability
  • When Things Go Wrong: Practical steps for addressing conflicts, compliance issues, and governance crises

Speakers:

Whether you’re a seasoned board member, a nonprofit executive, or legal counsel advising nonprofits, this CLE will provide actionable insights to help you navigate challenges and maintain trust, even when “good boards go bad.”

One hour of general CLE credit will be given (pending approval).
