Section 6. Tax Status.

As a duly organized Division serving the State Bar of Georgia and its members, the Division shall enjoy, the same tax status as the State Bar of Georgia., Section 6. Tax Status.

Section 2. Depository Requirements.

Funds of the Division shall be deposited in the treasury of the State Bar of Georgia and shall be disbursed, to pay the financial obligations of the Division after approval by the President and Treasurer of the, The Finance Department of the State Bar of Georgia shall, from time to time, make financial accounting, available to the Treasurer for the Division so the Division Treasurer can provide a report of the financial, condition of the Division to its members., Section 2. Section 5. Annual Financial Report.

A financial report of the funds of the Division shall be transmitted to the members at the annual meeting, of the Division and shall be included in the Division’s annual report to the Board of Governors., The Division shall have the same fiscal year as the State Bar of Georgia., Section 5. Section 3. Scope and Purpose.

The Senior Lawyers Division will not engage in any activity, program, event, or take a position contrary, to Rule 1-103 of the Rules of Governance of the State Bar of Georgia or any of the Bar’s other rules, Specifically, the Division will endeavor to foster the principles of duty and service to the public among, the members of the Bar of this State and the Division, improve the administration of justice, and advance, the science of law., Section 3. Section 2. Legislative Activity. Limitations.

The Division may, from time to time, as limited by the Rules, Bylaws, and Standing Board policies of, the State Bar of Georgia, study or review proposed legislation of interest to the Division and its members, The Division will take no action on its own behalf or on behalf of the State Bar of Georgia to promote, any legislative activities except as authorized by Bar Rules, Standing Policies, and Bylaws., Section 2. Section 5. Division Staff.

The Division Executive Committee may petition the State Bar of Georgia to hire a dedicated staff member, The Division may submit a request for a full or part-time staff person to the Executive Director and, the Personnel Committee of the State Bar of Georgia., No full or part-time staff shall be assigned to serve the Division without the approval of the Board, of Governors., Section 5. Section 1. Effective Date.

These Bylaws shall become effective upon approval by the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Georgia, Section 1. Effective Date.

Section 6. Staff Liaison.

A staff liaison from the Office of the General Counsel shall be appointed by the General Counsel as the, Division's legal advisor and a staff liaison appointed by the Executive Director of the State Bar of, Section 6. Staff Liaison.
