Center for Lawyer Wellbeing Committees

This committee’s purpose is to help the Center for Lawyer Wellbeing (CLW) coordinate activities, events and information relevant to the State Bar at large by providing guidance and input regarding needs of other sections of the State Bar. The committee will include representatives from the Lawyer Assistance Program, Suicide Awareness and Prevention Committee, SOLACE, Young Lawyers Division, Senior Lawyers Division, Board of Governors and Executive Committee Liaison. The CLW Board will also solicit advisory members from at least five other sections of the State Bar.

Center for Wellbeing Programming

The purpose of this committee is to plan, coordinate and execute events* for the Center for Lawyer Wellbeing (CLW). Examples include activities held in conjunction with State Bar meetings (such as a 5K Fun Run or Sunrise Yoga), cooking classes, mental health support groups, group walks, planning for the Out of the Darkness Walk and other wellness-related activities that promote the CLW’s mission of raising awareness and increasing knowledge about wellness in the legal profession.

*Events do not include CLEs or the Wellbeing Institute, which will be handled by a separate committee dedicated to those programs.

Communications/Technology

The purpose of this committee is to manage the Center for Lawyer Wellbeing’s (CLW) communications and visibility among CLW members and the State Bar. The committee will solicit, develop and provide content for the CLW website and social media platforms, ensuring that information is timely, accurate and up to date. The committee will also coordinate article submissions to the Georgia Bar Journal, as well as prepare summaries and submissions for the State Bar’s monthly email newsletter, Enews, that includes a CLW section and a quarterly newsletter for inclusion in the Board of Governors Board Book.

Fundraising

The purpose of this committee is to solicit sponsorships for Center for Lawyer Wellbeing (CLW) events and initiatives, including CLEs and events planned by the CLW Programming Committee, as well as to support the CLW itself. The CLW treasurer will serve as an advisory member of the Fundraising Committee.

Law School

The purpose of the committee will be to coordinate with Georgia law schools regarding the Center for Lawyer Wellbeing’s (CLW) mission and to increase law student involvement in CLW initiatives.

Wellness Institute/CLE Programming

The purpose of this committee is to plan and organize all aspects of the annual Center for Lawyer Wellbeing (CLW) Wellness Institute and CLE programs that promote the CLW’s mission.
