Main Issues Facing the State Bar/Position

  • The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the practice of law presents a significant opportunity to enhance productivity and expand attorneys’ ability to serve their clients. It also creates important ethical and professional responsibilities for attorneys. I am committed to furthering the work that has been done by the State Bar and working to streamline guidance for lawyers to ensure they use AI in a transformative and responsible manner.
  • Mental health and well-being in the legal profession is a significant issue affecting attorneys across Georgia. Often, the practice of law creates substantial demands on attorneys’ mental and physical well-being. In response to these demands, the State Bar of Georgia has laid the groundwork for attorney mental health support through its Lawyers Assistance Program (LAP) by offering six free and confidential counseling sessions to attorneys each year. I am committed to being a part of the continued effort to address mental health and well-being within our profession by building upon the existing LAP program. In addition, I hope to develop additional practical tools, CLEs and sustained, year-round support for attorneys.
