Sally Akins Installed as Secretary of State Bar of Georgia

Orlando, Florida–Sarah B. “Sally” Akins of Ellis Painter Ratterree & Adams LLP in Savannah was installed as secretary of the 50,000-member State Bar of Georgia on June 8 during the organization’s Annual Meeting.

Akins is also a member of the Executive Committee of the State Bar and has served in the Eastern Judicial Circuit, Post 1 seat on its Board of Governors. She earned her law degree from the Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1990. 

Her law practice is dedicated exclusively to civil trial practice, including cases involving premises liability, automobile and truck accidents, professional negligence, local government litigation, insurance coverage litigation and products liability. A registered mediator and arbitrator, she is immediate past president of the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association and a past president of the Savannah chapter of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers.
