Judge Irvin Re-Elected to Board of Governors of State Bar of Georgia

Orlando, Florida – Stephens County State Court Judge James T. Irvin of Toccoa was re-elected to serve on the Board of Governors of the 50,000-member State Bar of Georgia and was installed June 8 during the organization’s Annual Meeting.

Irvin will continue to serve in the Mountain Judicial Circuit seat on the board, representing Habersham, Rabun and Stephens counties. He earned his law degree from Atlanta Law School and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1974. He also is engaged in the private practice of law, focusing on auto injury cases and workers’ compensation law.

The Board of Governors is the 160-member policymaking authority of the State Bar, with representation from each of Georgia’s judicial circuits. The board holds regular meetings at least four times per year.
