Orlando, Florida–Amy V. Howell, assistant commissioner and general counsel of the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities in Atlanta, was re-elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the 50,000-member State Bar of Georgia on June 8 during the organization’s Annual Meeting.
Howell also serves in the Stone Mountain Judicial Circuit, Post 5 seat on the Board of Governors of the State Bar, representing DeKalb County. She earned her law degree from the Temple University Law School and was admitted to the State Bar in 2002. She is a past president of the State Bar’s Young Lawyers Division.
The Board of Governors of the State Bar elects six of its members to serve on the Executive Committee with the organization’s officers. The Executive Committee meets monthly and exercises the power of the Board of Governors when the board is not in session.
