Elissa Haynes Installed as President-Elect of State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division

ATLANTA – Elissa B. Haynes, a partner in the Atlanta office of Drew Eckl & Farnham LLP, was installed as president-elect of the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of the State Bar of Georgia on June 12.

A native of Marietta and current resident of Chamblee, Haynes earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and her law degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. She was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2011 and is admitted to practice in all Georgia state, federal, and appellate courts, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States. Haynes is an experienced litigator with a trial and appellate practice focused primarily on defending claims involving negligent security, premises liability, personal/catastrophic injuries, wrongful death and religious institution liability.

Haynes has previously served as secretary and, for the past year, as treasurer of the YLD. She is a graduate of the 2016 YLD Leadership Academy and previously served as Chair of the YLD Appellate Admissions and Legislative Affairs Committees. In addition to her YLD involvement, Haynes chairs the Retail & Hospitality Industry Team at Drew Eckl & Farnham, as well as the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association’s Amicus Curiae Committee. Haynes is also an active member of the Defense Research Institute, where she serves as the seminar marketing chair for the Appellate Advocacy Committee. Haynes has been named a Georgia Super Lawyer Rising Star since 2019.

Haynes will be installed as the 75th president of the Georgia YLD in June 2021.
