Elissa Haynes Installed as Treasurer of State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division

ORLANDO, Florida–Elissa B. Haynes, a partner in Goodman McGuffey LLP’s Atlanta office, was installed as treasurer of the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of the State Bar of Georgia on June 7 during the organization’s Annual Meeting. She was sworn in by Justice Keith Blackwell of the Supreme Court of Georgia.

A native of Marietta and current resident of Chamblee, Haynes earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and her law degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. She was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2011 and is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Georgia and Court of Appeals of Georgia, as well as the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia. Haynes represents clients in a wide array of liability and appellate matters throughout Georgia and has experience defending cases involving negligent security, premises, liability, religious institution liability, and bodily and catastrophic injuries. 

For the past year, Haynes has served as secretary of the YLD. She is a graduate of the 2016 YLD Leadership Academy and previously served as a Northern District representative on the YLD Representative Council, co-chair of the YLD’s Legislative Affairs Committee and as chair of the YLD Appellate Admissions Committee. Haynes was named a 2019 Georgia Super Lawyer Rising Star by Atlanta Magazine. In addition to her YLD involvement, Haynes is an active member of the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, Atlanta Bar Association, Defense Research Institute and The CLM Alliance.
