Atlanta – Amy C. Walters of Hagler Jackson & Walters in Columbus was re-elected, and Alex M. Shalishali of Page Scrantom Sprouse Tucker & Ford P.C. in Columbus was elected to serve on the Board of Governors of the 52,000-member State Bar of Georgia. Both were installed June 13.
Walters will continue to serve in the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit, Post 1 seat on the board, representing Chattahoochee, Harris, Marion, Muscogee, Talbot and Taylor counties. She earned her law degree from Loyola University in Louisiana and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2004. She is a member of the State Bar’s Child Protection & Advocacy and Family Law sections.
Shalishali will serve in the Post 3 seat from the Chattahoochee Circuit. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law and joined the State Bar in 2012. His law practice is focused in litigation, and he serves as president of the Fountain City Bar Association.
The Board of Governors is the 160-member policymaking authority of the State Bar, with representation from each of Georgia’s judicial circuits. The board holds regular meetings at least four times per year.
