Columbus Attorneys Elected to Board of Governors of State Bar of Georgia

Orlando, Florida – Brandon L. Peak of Butler Wooten Peak LLP was elected, and Donna S. Hix of Hall Booth Smith P.C. was re-elected to serve on the Board of Governors of the 50,000-member State Bar of Georgia. Both Columbus attorneys were installed June 8 during the organization’s Annual Meeting.

Peak will serve in the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit, Post 2 seat on the board, representing Chattahoochee, Harris, Marion, Muscogee, Talbot and Taylor counties. He earned his law degree from Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2004. As a partner with Butler Wooten & Peak LLP, his law practice is focused on trucking accidents, wrongful death, product liability, personal injury, whistleblower, professional negligence and class action cases. He is a past president of the Columbus Bar Association, the Chattahoochee Bar Association and the Columbus Trial Lawyers Association.

Hix will continue to serve in the Post 4 seat from the Chattahoochee Circuit. She is a graduate of the Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law and joined the State Bar in 1993. She is a partner with Hall Booth Smith P.C., where she focuses her law practice in the areas of family law, business litigation and alternative dispute resolution/arbitration. She is a past president of the Columbus Bar Association.

The Board of Governors is the 160-member policymaking authority of the State Bar, with representation from each of Georgia’s judicial circuits. The board holds regular meetings at least four times per year.
