To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of Savannah native and Conyers attorney Percy V. Williams II on his recent and very untimely passing.

During his distinguished career that began with his admission to the State Bar of Georgia in 1987, Mr. Williams served the public as legislative counsel for former U.S. Rep. Lindsay Thomas, as legislative analyst and spokesperson for the Society for Human Resource Management and as a consultant to the Georgia Conference of Black Mayors. He was a corporate counsel for Apple South Inc. and served his profession as vice president of the Rockdale County Bar Association.

Percy Williams’ exemplary lifetime of service is an inspiration to all Georgia lawyers. We are appreciative of his many contributions to the cause of justice in our state and nation.
