To the Editor:
The State Bar of Georgia extends condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of longtime Atlanta trial lawyer Sid Wheeler, whose passing Jan. 21 has left us all saddened.
During a distinguished legal career that began in 1962, Mr. Wheeler practiced first with the firm headed by E. Smythe Gambrell and was a founding partner of Long, Weinberg, Ansley & Wheeler in 1967 and Weinberg Wheeler Hudgins Gunn & Dial in 1999. A trial lawyer for more than four decades, he was a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He also served his country in the Navy, serving on active duty before entering law school.
Sid Wheeler will be missed and fondly remembered by Georgia’s legal community. We appreciate the many contributions he made during his admirable career and his exemplary service to the public and the justice system of our state.
Sincerely,
Darrell Sutton
President, State Bar of Georgia
