To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I wish to express congratulations and thanks to members of the Waycross Bar Association who spearheaded the recent observance of Law Day 2017.

The national theme for this year’s celebration of Law Day is “The 14th Amendment: Transforming American Democracy,” which commemorates the amendment’s citizenship, due process and equal protection clauses in our Constitution, thus advancing the rights of all Americans.

Congratulations also go to retired Bacon County Sheriff Richard Foskey, who received the Liberty Bell Award, which recognizes a non-lawyer whose service has strengthened the American system of freedom under the law.

We commend President T. Craig Head Jr. and all members of the Waycross Bar Association for a most successful observance of Law Day, which helps make the public aware of the importance and value of our justice system.

Sincerely,
Brian D. “Buck” Rogers
President, State Bar of Georgia
