To the Editor:

The State Bar of Georgia congratulates and thanks the leaders of the Tifton Judicial Circuit Bar Association, who spearheaded the recent observance of Law Day 2019.

Congratulations also go to Leah Robbins, administrative supervisor, office manager and paralegal for Tifton Circuit Chief Public Defender John R. Mobley II, on receiving the Liberty Bell Award. This award recognizes outstanding service by a non-lawyer to the community and the justice system.

The national theme for this year’s celebration of Law Day is “Free Speech, Free Press, Free Society,” focusing attention on these cornerstones of representative government and calling on us to understand and protect these rights to ensure, as the U.S. Constitution proposes, “the blessings of liberty for ourselves and our posterity.”

We commend President Cameron S. Roberts and all members of the Tifton Circuit Bar Association for a successful observance of Law Day, which serves to increase public awareness of the importance and value of our justice system.
