To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express congratulations and thanks to the three attorneys recently honored by the Savannah Bar Association’s Pro Bono Committee for their efforts to provide legal services for those who cannot afford representation.
Francesca A. Rehal received the Pro Bono Champion Award for handling the most pro bono cases during the past year. Robert B. Brannen Jr. of Bouhan Falligant LLP received the Pro Bono Advocate award for his exceptional service to pro bono clients. Kristin Ruzicka Cerbone received the Pro Bono Catalyst Award for her support and advancement of the Pro Bono Initiative at the local level.
We further salute the Savannah Bar Association for raising awareness among its members of the need for pro bono service. The justice gap in our state and throughout the country is real, and the only way to close it is for lawyers and legal organizations continue to emphasize and support these contributions being made by lawyers throughout Georgia in service to the public and the justice system.
