To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to extend congratulations to Rockdale County State Court Judge Nancy N. Bills on her appointment by Gov. Brian Kemp to serve as a Superior Court judge for the Rockdale Judicial Circuit. We also congratulate Rockdale County Probate Judge Clarence Cuthpert Jr. on his appointment by Gov. Kemp to succeed Judge Bills as judge of the Rockdale County State Court.
Judge Bills will be well served in her new position by her 32 years of experience in the legal profession and justice system, including service in private law practice and as chief assistant district attorney for the Rockdale Circuit prior to becoming State Court judge. She also chairs the Rockdale County Task Force on Family Violence and has served as president of the Georgia Council of State Court Judges.
Judge Cuthpert brings nearly 25 years of legal experience to his new judicial post. Before serving as Probate Court judge, he was in private practice and was associate city attorney for the City of Atlanta.
By accepting these appointments, Judge Bills and Judge Cuthpert demonstrate their continued commitment to serving the public and the justice system. We wish them well in these new capacities of judicial leadership.
