To the Editor:

The State Bar of Georgia extends condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of retired U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Hugh Robinson, whose passing March 29 has left us all saddened.

A member of the State Bar of Georgia since 1967, Judge Robinson’s distinguished legal career included a number of years in private law practice before his appointment to the federal bankruptcy judgeship in the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Georgia. After retirement, he served as an associate judge for the Cobb County Magistrate Court. He also served his country as a Navy veteran and in the Merchant Marine and, prior to his legal and judicial career, as an FBI agent. His late wife Dorothy was Georgia’s first female judge, serving the Cobb County State Court starting in 1972 until her election to the Cobb County Superior Court in 1980.

Judge Hugh Robinson will be missed and fondly remembered by Georgia’s legal community. We appreciate his exemplary service and the many contributions he made to the public and justice system during his admirable career.
