On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express congratulations to Thomasville attorney Andrew W. Pope on his recent appointment by Gov. Nathan Deal to serve as solicitor general for Thomas County.

Mr. Pope will be well served by his experience in the legal profession, including previous service as solicitor general of Thomas County from 2006 through 2012 and as an assistant district attorney in the Southern Judicial Circuit from 1999 through 2004.

Mr. Pope’s acceptance of this appointment is evidence of his continued dedication to public service and upholding the rule of law. His fellow members of the State Bar of Georgia wish him well in his return to the solicitor general’s office.
