To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I wish to extend congratulations and thanks to longtime Alapaha Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge Carson Dane Perkins on his retirement from full-time judicial service effective Dec. 31.

During his distinguished career of 43 years in Georgia's legal profession and justice system, Judge Perkins practiced law in Nashville for 24 years prior to joining the Superior Court bench for the Alapaha Circuit, covering Atkinson, Berrien, Clinch, Cook and Lanier counties in January 1997. He further serves the legal profession and our courts as a member of the Board of Governors and the Bench & Bar Committee of the State Bar of Georgia.

All members of the State Bar of Georgia are grateful for the dedicated service of Judge Perkins and are inspired by his many contributions toward strengthening the foundations of our justice system, which protects the rights and liberties of all Americans. We wish him well in the years ahead.

Sincerely,
Patrick T. O'Connor

President, State Bar of Georgia
