To the Editor:

The State Bar of Georgia extends condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of longtime Rome attorney James G. Meeks Jr., whose passing April 22 has left us all saddened.

Admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1986, Mr. Meeks was engaged in private practice with the firm of Meeks & Richardson in Rome and served as guardian ad litem in the Floyd County Juvenile Court. He also served his country as a Marine Corps veteran during the Korean War.

James Meeks Jr. will be missed and fondly remembered by Georgia’s legal community. We appreciate his service and the many contributions he made to the public and justice system during his career.
