To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to extend congratulations to assistant U.S. Attorney Scott F. McAfee on his appointment by Gov. Brian Kemp to the state Office of Inspector General.

A native of Kennesaw, Mr. McAfee will lead the Office of Inspector General in its duties to prevent, detect, identify, expose and eliminate fraud, waste, abuse and corruption in state government. A career public servant, Mr. McAfee previously served as an assistant district attorney in the Atlanta Judicial Circuit and is a past president of the Criminal Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association.

By accepting this position, Mr. McAfee demonstrates his continued commitment to serving the public and the justice system. We wish him well in this new capacity of statewide leadership.
