To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to offer condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of Cartersville attorney and Acworth resident Antonio B. Mari on his recent and tragic passing.

During a legal career of nearly nine years, cut short by an incomprehensible act of rage, Mr. Mari had established a solid reputation as a practitioner of family law and was well regarded in the community.
Before entering the practice of law, Mr. Mari taught social studies for 10 years at Cass High School in Bartow County.

While we grieve over the passing of our colleague, it is also a chilling reminder that attorneys are vulnerable to violent, even murderous attacks for simply doing their job on behalf of their clients.

Antonio Mari will be missed and fondly remembered by his fellow members of the legal community. We appreciate the many contributions he made during his career as a Georgia lawyer and through his devoted service to the justice system.

Sincerely,
Kenneth B. Hodges III
President, State Bar of Georgia
