To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to offer condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of Tucker resident Anne W. Lewis, partner with Strickland Brockington Lewis LLP in Atlanta, on her recent and very untimely passing.

During her distinguished career of in the legal profession, Ms. Lewis served as general counsel of the Georgia Republican Party and was a past co-chair of the Supreme Court of Georgia’s Committee on Civil Justice, among numerous other professional leadership positions. She was a member of the State Bar of Georgia’s Indigent Defense Committee and Post-Conviction Relief Committee and served her community as a past president of the St. Thomas More Catholic School Board of Education. In 2011, she was honored with the Justice Robert Benham Award for Community Service.

Anne Lewis will be missed and fondly remembered by her fellow members of the legal community. We appreciate the many contributions she made during her career through her exemplary service to the public and the justice system.
