On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I wish to extend congratulations and thanks to longtime Chatham County Probate Court Judge Harris Lewis on his retirement from office effective Dec. 31.
Georgia's Probate Court judges fulfill a vital responsibility in the administration of justice at the local level. Judge Lewis has been an important part of the Savannah legal community and served as Probate Court judge for 21 years. He has been an active member of the State Bar of Georgia since 1961.
All members of Georgia's legal community are grateful for the service rendered by Judge Lewis and are inspired by his many contributions toward strengthening the foundations of our justice system, which protects the rights and liberties of all Americans. We wish him well in the years ahead.
