To the Editor:
On behalf of the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to congratulate the students, faculty and staff of Mercer University Walter F. George Law School for winning the prestigious Law School Cup in the recently completed eighth annual Georgia Legal Food Frenzy.
The food and money raised by Mercer Law on behalf of the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank contributed to the record-breaking total of 1.7 million meals raised by the legal community across the state. A total of 193 legal organizations, representing more than 13,000 members, participated in this year’s Legal Food Frenzy. We also salute the Law Offices of Connie L. Williford in Macon, total points and per capita winner, and Westmoreland Patterson Moseley & Hinson LLP in Macon, per capita runner-up, for the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank region.
Along with Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr, the Georgia YLD is honored to co-sponsor this project to assist the Georgia Food Bank Association and its regional food banks. We have now raised the equivalent of 8.9 million meals in eight years.
Thanks again to each attorney and legal professional who joined us for this important cause. We are proud to help lead an effort that has such a significant impact on communities across Georgia.
