To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of longtime Buckhead resident and Atlanta attorney Jackie Kleiner on his recent passing.

During his distinguished career of more than 50 years, Dr. Kleiner attained national recognition for winning a landmark class action lawsuit on behalf of small business owners, which had a lasting impact on the commercial banking industry. He was also a tenured professor at Georgia Tech, having taught in its School of Business for more than 30 years.

Dr. Kleiner also served his country as an Army master sergeant during the Korean War. He returned to his native Bronx, N.Y., after retiring from his Atlanta law practice.

Jackie Kleiner’s exemplary lifetime of service is an inspiration to all Georgia lawyers. We are appreciative of his many contributions to the cause of justice in our state and nation.

Sincerely,
Brian D. “Buck” Rogers
President, State Bar of Georgia
