To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to extend condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of longtime Atlanta attorney and part-time Blue Ridge resident Glower W. Jones after his passing on Jan. 27 at the age of 84.

A member of the Georgia Bar since 1962, Mr. Jones practiced construction law for nearly 40 years with the firm of Smith, Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hancock – later known as Smith, Currie & Hancock LLP – representing owners, general contractors and subcontractors on projects throughout the U.S. and in Saudi Arabia. A leader among his peers, he chaired the International Public Construction Committee of the American Bar Association. He also served his community as board president of the Metro Atlanta Boys and Girls Club and as a member of the Humane Society of Blue Ridge, among other activities.

Glower Jones will be missed and fondly remembered by his fellow members of the legal community. We appreciate his dedication and the many contributions he made during his career through his exemplary service to the public and justice system.

Dawn M. Jones
President, State Bar of Georgia
