To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to extend congratulations to Toombs Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge Thomas Britt Hammond on his appointment by Gov. Brian Kemp to serve on the Georgia Child Fatality Review Panel.
All Georgia residents will benefit from Judge Hammond’s service on the panel, which meets quarterly to oversee the county child fatality review process, report to the governor annually on the incidence of child deaths and recommend prevention measures based on the data.
By accepting this position, Judge Hammond demonstrates his continued commitment to serving the public and the justice system. We wish him well in this new capacity of statewide leadership.
Dawn M. Jones
President, State Bar of Georgia
