To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I wish to extend congratulations to U.S. District Court Judge J. Randal "Randy" Hall of Augusta on his recent installation as the new chief judge of the Southern District of Georgia.
Judge Hall will be well served by his 35 years of experience in the legal profession and justice system, including the past nine years as a federal judge. Previously, he was engaged in private and corporate law practice in Augusta and served in the Georgia State Senate.
Judge Hall's acceptance of the administrative and operational duties of the chief judge demonstrates his continued commitment to serving the public and the justice system, and we wish him well in this new position of judicial leadership.
