To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express congratulations and thanks to the officers and members of the Gate City Bar Association, who recently made a $1,000 donation to the Friends of George Washington Carver Park in Cartersville.
The presentation was made to Justice Robert Benham of the Supreme Court of Georgia, who was raised in Cartersville, and his father served as superintendent of the historic park in the 1950s and 1960s. The donation will go toward funding the restoration of the park and other Bartow County African-American Trail historic sites.
We salute DeKalb County State Court Judge Ronald Ramsey, Judicial Section chairman, and other members of the Gate City Bar Association for their leadership in providing this funding. This is an inspiring example of the contributions to the community being made by lawyers throughout Georgia in service to the public, the legal profession and the justice system.
